Climbing. Concerts. Cats Cradle.

Howdy Y'all!
This weekend was quite fun! Steven and I did quite a few exciting things this weekend that I figured I'd share!

First of all, Saturday morning we got up earlier than I have since early morning seminary, to go on a hike with his brother and dad.  We only hiked about 2.5 miles, so nothing terrible, but it has definitely been a while since I've been active! haha my thunder thighs protested from the moment we set out! We came across this pretty waterfall!  Being only April in Utah, we also came across large patches of Snow! And my favorite part was the large open "meadow-like" areas we came across. It was beautiful!!!! There is definitely something about nature that I can't get enough of!

After our hike,  Steven and I went home to get ready for part two of our busy Saturday!  He had bought tickets to a concert of my favorite band.  He Is We.  I cannot tell you how excited I was for this concert!!!  We got in line around 5:30. Doors opened at 7. The opening band started at 8. It was just one guy and his guitar, from Logan, Utah.  He was actually really good.  Plus he looked exactly like Zach Galifianakis! He was great!!! He is We didn't actually come on stage until 9.  Steven and I had already been standing for 3.5 hours (don't forget our long hike too!!) Our feet hurt, it was hot and crowded, and we were surrounded by a lot of pre-teenage girls being... girls.  But can I just say, it was SO worth it all! He is We is the band that sings "our Song" it's called "All About Us".  It was so great being at this concert, holding hands with the love of my life, while they sang our song, and everyone in the crowd screamed it at the top of our lungs! It was a great night!!  Before the last song, Rachel ( the lead singer) called some random girl up to the stage, and her boyfriend walked out and proposed to her- after all the girls in the audience stopped screaming! It was super cute! :)  Great night, Great music, with my Great husband!!!

And I have one more story!!! Sorry, it seems like a long post... just lots of pictures to share today!  This afternoon,  since I didn't have school, or homework, or... anything else to do, really, I decided to indulge in one of my all time favorite activities!  Antique store shopping!! I don't actually buy anything, I just LOVE to look around at the stuff! I have a fascination with old stuff, not sure where that came from! Anyway, its a hobby I usually have to pursue while my dear husband is gone, he isn't quite as fascinated by smelly, decrepit stores! So there is a store here in Provo, called Cat's Cradle.  It is fantastic! I spent some time looking around there today, and found something quite amusing! I want Y'all to see it! made my day! So.... it is a church hymn book from the late 1800's.  For any of you that are Mormon, you would definitely notice a bunch of the same hymns that we sing on Sundays now, except whoever owned this hymn book before made their own notes.  They have crossed out some of the words in titles to make their own new titles.  Here's a picture of one, not sure if you'll be able to see it,  but they changed it from " Come, rally in the sunday school" to "Come, flirt in the sunday school". So much better right!? Some of the other ones they had changed was "There is sunshine in my soul today" Became "There is moonshine in my soul today".  "Zion is growing" turned into "Zion is growing old".  It made me laugh! :)  I was super tempted to buy the book, not gonna lie.  I wouldn't have even hesitated, but the binding was completely destroyed, it would have been so much more work than it would be worth! But I definitely had to share!

Sorry I just rambled for ages! The moral of this post: Steven and I had a wonderful weekend, I hope Y'all did too! Thanks for reading! :)  Feel free to leave comments! (Except if you don't have a google account it posts as "Anonymous" so you may have to sign it!  haha.

Till next time....

Priorities!!

Here comes the second post! I feel like it's been an eventful week.  Exciting news to share!!

To begin with, my first semester at BYU is coming to a close! Time flies.  Steven and I have LOVED the excess time that school used to consume!  We're definitely looking forward to the summer break.  We've been celebrating summer by playing guitar hero together.  Something we haven't done in months! :)  We play the career mode.  Our band's name is "Hoo Ahh Yoo" Say it out loud, it's pretty great.... right?  If we aren't playing Guitar Hero, we are packing for our 3 month getaway in Austin, TX. ( back up-Let me rephrase.... I have been packing!) And I guess any extra time has been devoted to studying for finals.  Priorities.

As some of you may have seen on Facebook recently I found out I got into the Special Education Program!!! Yay!! :) So I start in the fall....  for some of you reading that you're saying "wait.... not nursing?"  Let me explain to you how this came to be. (the short version, of course!)  So I've recently been torn between  the two, and have been praying about it a lot and couldn't decide which would be a better choice for me.  I started working towards nursing, but it's been one road block after another.  Seriously, huge pain in the butt.  I told Steven I just want ONE open door, is that too much to ask?  All I had standing between me and applying for the BYU nursing program was one Chemistry class.  Turns out, this chem class has literally kicked my butt.  So out of curiosity I checked into the Special Education Program.  The deadline to apply for Fall was 3 months past.  I emailed the program director, and she promptly replied saying "We would Love to make an exception!"  She then extended the deadline for my application so I had time to apply!  Talk about an open door!  I knew that my prayers had been answered and that God was giving me the Green flag.  Full steam ahead, I will be starting in the fall, and couldn't be happier about that decision!!

The Beginning....

Guys!!!  I'm succumbing to this "blogger" business. Gonna give it a try at least! :)  Should probably start out with the title of the blog.  It started out as a joke between Steven and I, and I will probably change it when I have a cooler idea for a title! It's a reference to Arrested Development.  If you have seen it, you know what we're talking about.  If you haven't seen it, fix that!

Well.... I suppose it's only fair to get everyone caught up on our exciting lives, right?
So here it goes!  I met Steven a little over a year ago. We sat next to each other on the plane ride home for Christmas break!  We were engaged less than 2 months later! And last August 10th we sealed the deal in the Manti temple!  Best. Decision. Ever!  I am so lucky to have him! He is seriously perfect! (As cheesy as it sounds...) He is smart, and likes that I'm (occasionally) smart too! We have a lot of common interests, and now that I've shared my love of snowboarding with him, he's hooked on that too!! He makes me SO happy! And it is extremely exciting to think about all the adventures we get to share over the next....eternity together!! I included a video we've made of our first two months together. It summarizes everything quite well, if I do say so myself!

I'm sure as we go along you will learn much more about Steven and I, don't want to overwhelm in my first blog post, that's probably a bad thing!
Wish me luck as I attempt to get good at this!  :)
